Quay Veterinary Centre is part of the Grange Veterinary group (a multi-branch practice) and is RCVS accredited. The website positions the wider group as having a “state-of-the-art hospital” and modern equipment, with 24/7 emergency care available.
From the latest reviews available, owners often mention staff taking time with anxious pets (including a “very afraid” cat and a dog that struggles with injections) and being supportive during end-of-life care (“didn’t rush me” when saying goodbye). One recent review describes a sharply different experience: concerns about unclear explanations of medication given to a cat, missed calls when trying to clarify details, and disappointment with the overall communication.
Google rating: 4.8 stars from 76 reviews. - Support during euthanasia/end-of-life: owners describe not being rushed and staff helping make a difficult appointment calmer.

Awful experience. On Thursday morning, my cat was found to have swollen kidneys, so we took him to the clinic the same day (Thursday evening after 5 pm). He was examined by a relatively young male veterinarian, who advised that it might be kidney disease. We were given a list of tests to be carried out the following Tuesday, with an estimated cost of £560, which we were more than willing to proceed with, as our cat meant the world to us. The vet administered an antibiotic tablet and a Prevomax injection, which is typically used to treat or prevent nausea and vomiting—symptoms our cat was not displaying at the time. Unfortunately, on Saturday morning we woke up to find our beloved cat had passed away. Today (Monday), we had to call the clinic to clarify what medication had actually been administered, as the vet had not explained this clearly during the appointment and used a lot of technical terminology without proper explanation. Our calls to the original clinic went unanswered, so we contacted the Flint branch to both obtain this information and cancel the Tuesday appointment. We were told the matter would be “looked into,” though we have little confidence that this will happen. We are extremely disappointed with the level of communication and care provided. In our view, further diagnostic tests should have been carried out before administering any medication. Losing our cat—who was only three years old—just before Christmas has been devastating. Despite the clinic’s positive reviews, we will not be using this veterinary practice again. I would strongly advise others to question and seek full explanations for any treatments being given, as the vet we saw did not appear willing to explain things clearly.

The vets here are wonderful. They all clearly care about your pet and try to give the best recommendations. Fair pricing and I trust them with my pets care, which is very important. Wouldn't go anywhere else. They have treated a number of my animals, and are always especially good during the end of a loved ones life, when the time comes. Love that I can now book appointments online, very handy!

I had to put a dog to sleep last Christmas, and considering, the practice made it as good as it possibly could be. They didnt rush me, they were very empathetic and caring. The final days of our beloved boys were calm, loved and well looked after. I couldnt thank them enough. We also have another dog who is so overly dramtic and a right diva when it comes to the vets, refuses injections and thrashes about, however the vets and nurses here really understand her, and give her the time she needs to be able to cope. Unlike other vets I have been to - You still get the impression that everyone there actually likes animals still!! I have already reccomended this to friends who live near by who have now joined - And I would reccomend to you!
