I've used a lot of vets over the years but Marlows are by far the very best you could do for your pet. The staff are amazing, there's never any bother when you need an appointment and they just can't do enough for you. Would recommend them to anyone..........First class service provided.

Marlow Vet practice prioritises making money over care. My personal experience (and I have so many more examples) includes when after many times asking reception staff for help with an insurance claim which wasnt being processed I challenged the person who is responsible for processing insurance claims. It had been several months where I had been waiting for over £500 to be paid to me by my insurance company. She told me as I had made a complaint, if she doesn't like the person making the claim she doesn't process it to the insurance company technically withholding their money and seemed proud to tell me she had over 100 claims awaiting process for this reason. Another example was when our dog had cruciate ligament surgery we were told we HAD to come into the practice for a post op checkup costing an appointment fee. The vet didn't look at or even touch our dog. We were in there for less than 5 minutes and charged an appointment fee. Clearly no consideration for the stress and discomfort lifting a German Shepherd in and out of a car 4 times to not even be physically assessed. Another example was our other dog was on lifetime meds for underactive thyroid. Marlow refused to give a prescription for longer than a month and made us attend the practice monthly to charge us getting the meds directly from them. Our previous vet (and new vets Chase View in Ross) actually recommended us getting a prescription and gave us a 6 month prescription as they said the drugs can be purchased online significantlycheaper than buying direct through the practice. When asked why this is the case the only reason we were told is the practice owners (Mr and Mrs Marlow) don't want to give prescriptions for more than a month. No other genuine reason has ever been given so I can only be left to assume it is to make more money off the sale of drugs. Even the simple things like when our animals (we have 2 dogs and 3 cats) were seen by the vets and due to the assessment were caused pain or discomfort, we as owners had to always push and prompt the vets to offer treats and fuss to try and make visits to the practice a pleasant experience. This was never forthcoming and only happened when we as owners prompted the vet to do it. It is such a shame that people who have decided to work with animals are driven by pound signs, not the best welfare, treatment and wellbeing of the animal. We have moved to Chase View in Ross now and I cannot say how much better they are, the polar opposite to Marlow. The first time we took our dog in the vet spent several minutes just watching, touching, assessing and giving treats to him before getting started with the consultation. Even meeting us in the waiting room with treats just to say hello to our dog. Our dog left happy, wagging his tail where as at Marlows he literally pulled us to get into the car and away.

We first started coming to Marlow Vets over 8 years ago when we lived in Chepstow and always received exceptional service. After moving to Cardiff we tried several local vets, but none matched the care and professionalism we experienced at Marlows. In fact, we now travel back to Chepstow for our dog and cats because we trust them so much. One noteworthy episode was when Glenn and the team saved our cat, who had previously been very close to being put down by a Cardiff vet. Thank you, Glenn, and the team at Marlow Vets.
