Bridge vets in Pontllanfraith are fantastic, my dog has been very poorly these last 6 months and unfortunately it was her time to shine last week. The care and compassion the whole team have shown, has been outstanding. Special mention to receptionist Sally, who always takes the time to listen to your concerns and gets you seen quickly. Keep doing what you do xxx

We appreciated the calm, professional guidance and kindness of all staff we met at Bridge vets Pontlanfraith. One of the most difficult days parting with our much loved border Collie Max.

Excellent visit to Bridge vets today for Izzy's vaccinations. The vet was very attentive. Listened to concerns about Izzy not liking injections and responded to this. The result was a reasonably relaxed Izzy. Thank you very much

My email of complaint which hasn’t been responded to: Dear Bridge Vets, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the consultation I had at your practice today regarding my cat. I brought her in as she has cat acne which I have been managing at home by cleaning with cooled boiled salt water. Over the weekend, it became inflamed and abscess-like. After expressing most of the pus myself, I booked an appointment due to concerns about possible cellulitis, given the hardened skin around the wound. During the consultation, the vet advised that antibiotics may or may not help but suggested it could be an ingrown hair that might reoccur in the future. When I asked about the surrounding hard skin, she said it was swelling. I queried why it was hard, and she confirmed it was cellulitis. However, when I asked her to explain what cellulitis is, she struggled with her answer. As a practice nurse, I am aware that cellulitis is an infection requiring antibiotic treatment in most cases. When I explained this, the vet told me that cellulitis is not an infection, which is factually incorrect and concerning. Untreated cellulitis can progress rapidly and may lead to serious complications, including sepsis. I pushed for oral antibiotics and an IM dose. Given the risks associated with delayed or inappropriate treatment, I do not feel confident in the accuracy of the advice provided, nor in the care my cat received during this consultation. I paid £63 for this consultation and left without confidence in the vet’s knowledge or advice. Someone without clinical knowledge could easily have gone home without antibiotics, potentially putting their pet at serious risk. I would like this matter reviewed and to receive clarification on your clinical approach to suspected cellulitis in animals, as well as how such consultations are overseen to ensure accurate, evidence-based information is given. Regards, Mrs Jordan Khan

I have been a member of Bridge Vets since last year with my cat (Maine Coon) and before that with another bundle of joy (Siamese). The service is very good and I would recommend this place to others. As I couldn't access my cat carrier, I hesitantly attended my vets appointment with my cat in my arms. A very kind member of staff offered to provide me with a cat carrier whilst I was in the vets (which I accepted). The only thing that I would suggest would improve this vets are: 1. The cat waiting area could be larger and more detached / protected from the main reception. 2. The receptionists could be more on the ball with serving those in front of them (in the flesh) as opposed to answering phones or doing admin. Keep up the good work, thank you for the good service and looking after my cat(s).

Our family’s experience with this vet was poor, the people are kind but that’s the bare minimum, however when it came to my dog there were so many mistakes, for example they cut her nails and they bled most days for over a month and gave us the wrong dosage of tablets for her. Unfortunately when it comes to our dogs passing there wasn’t much empathy at all but they was more than happy to receive our money at the end. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this vet if your looking for people who genuinely care.
