Abbey Veterinary Centre is a small-animal practice that says it has been caring for pets since the 1980s. It’s listed as a veterinary nurse training facility and as offering emergency veterinary services (described in the clinic data as 24/7 or extended hours, with no further detail provided). Recent reviews most often mention routine preventative care (first vaccinations, boosters and health checks), the practice fitting pets in at short notice, and supportive handling around end-of-life situations. Pricing feedback is mixed: one reviewer reports steep costs for vaccines (including a rabies jab), while another says pricing felt open and honest.

Abbey vets in abergavenny are caring, polite and very loving to our pets, they take time to discuss any problems you may have and are always ready to listen. Would recommended Abbey vets to all with pets of any shape or size.

I have been to the vets 3 times now since moving back to wales 3 months ago and had to move vets due to appalling treatment but I shall not name them. Got recommended Abbey vets by family and friends, and I have to say, that I have genuinely had the best experience each visit. Very quick to get into our appointment, and have also managed to fit us in last minute before. Treated my kittens with compassion and care! All staff were lovely, and the receptionist I spoke to was lovely and had a nice conversation with me about moving back to Wales and University. 5 star service!

My family has used abbey vets for years. Prices seem to increase on every visit. So we compared facility and prices to a Honddu Veterinary in Brecon. Facility and service is just no comparison and it’s 1/3rd of the price. A rabies jab cost me £138 in abbey vets compared to £48 in Brecon, same story with yearly vaccination. We have now transferred all our animals for this vets and can’t help we’ve been ripped off for years.

I have been coming to Abbey Vets since 1989, when we moved to Wales with our beloved Cats and have had a few Cats since. I have seen lovely Vets during all of this time and a lovely new Vet yesterday, when I brought my cat Tilly for her Booster and health check. The staff are all lovely and very helpful. I don't think Tilly enjoyed her visit though. 😾

I can’t speak highly enough of the team at Abbey in Abergavenny, we have been using the vets for over 20 years, for our pets and my parents pets. Currently both our cavaliers Molly and Lilly are under the practice, both are elderly, the team are fantastic, they show compassion, kindness and nothing is too much trouble. The staff on the desk are so helpful, particularly Cheryl, they all greet you with a smile and cannot do enough to help you. They are all great. Extremely professional. Molly is currently undergoing various treatments, the team are upfront and open with what procedures and options we have, they are fair and reasonable. Particularly Gary, if you want a reliable, honest and trustworthy professional vet who genuinely cares about your pets, you need to see Gary, he is compassionate, kind and really cares for your animals. We highly recommend the whole team and cannot speak highly enough about them for the service they continue to provide each time we attend. Thank you all.

From registration to appointment and treatment this veterinary practice have been very easy to work with, I like that pricing is open and honest, their website is up to date and easy to follow. There is also parking on site which makes visiting easier again. The staff were friendly with both me and my dog! 😆 although, I didn't get any snacks!

Always a great service. The team were kind and caring when our dog died last December. They have helped again this week when our puppy was ill. Really grateful for their consideration, compassion and care. Thank you from Maple
