Vets Now is a corporate out-of-hours emergency veterinary clinic (Vets Now) providing urgent care for dogs, cats and small animals when daytime vets are closed, including bank holidays. The website lists on-site emergency facilities such as an in-house lab, operating theatre, X‑ray, ultrasound and an isolation unit, suggesting it’s set up to assess and stabilise a wide range of emergencies rather than routine care.
Recent reviews describe cases including chocolate ingestion advice and reassurance, severe vomiting/diarrhoea with blood, and a serious leg injury where the vet reportedly made late-night calls to secure specialist referral. Owners often mention staff staying calm and reassuring during stressful visits; one recent negative review describes repeated focus on insurance/cost during the consultation and cites £500 for a 20‑minute appointment.
4.3 stars from 263 reviews. - Calm, reassuring handling during emergencies; owners mention staff helping them feel less panicked and being “very reassuring,” including with cats and dogs.

My dog had eaten chocolate, they took details and put my mind at rest that he would be OK. We were treated very kindly, for which I am very grateful. Thank you.

Very happy with the services I received I was concerned about my little Dachshund Elphina as she had been sick all day the day and night before also her stool was like water and red with blood .We had to travel more than an hour away from home to get to the out of hours vet which I am grateful for my daughter and Granddaughter for taking me . The price was expensive but needs must to make sure that my little baby girl was seen as it was a big shock to see her not well . Thank you taking care of her 😀

I wanted to express my deep gratitude for the exceptional care we received at your out-of-hours clinic on the night of Saturday 23rd August 2024, going into the early hours of Sunday. Our whippet suffered a serious leg injury, and we were facing the devastating possibility of amputation if he didn’t receive urgent specialist treatment. It was an incredibly traumatic time for us—but from the moment we arrived, Vet Louise was nothing short of amazing. She is a true credit to your service. Her professionalism, honesty, warmth, and empathy provided us with reassurance and calm during a very distressing experience. Her expertise and compassionate approach made a world of difference. Louise went above and beyond—making countless phone calls late at night over a bank holiday weekend—to ensure our dog could access the specialist care he needed. Thanks to her persistence and care, he was transferred and is currently receiving treatment at Liverpool University Hospital. We are incredibly grateful for everything Louise did that night. Please pass on our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.

I recently used Vets Now for an emergency (evening) visit with my dog, whilst holidaying nearby. The receptionist was ready and waiting at the door (as we'd phoned ahead). The vet came out and welcomed us in to the examination room. I was clearly panicked but both remained very calm and friendly, which helped me. A thorough examination was carried out and treatment options were given. They made a real fuss of my dog and we walked out, with a happy ending. Such lovely, caring and understanding staff. I wouldn't hesitate to use their services again if ever I needed.

We were very grateful for a vet to see our beloved dog. He did sadly pass three days later which was a massive shock. Like I said, we were glad to be able to get to see a vet out of hours however the constant stressing on how much our insurance was for and whether or not we'd ever claimed on it was rather upsetting. We came away saying how awful it was. Yes they gave him two injections and advice but the cost of five hundred for 20 minute appointment just added to our worry. Like I said, glad of a vet but the cost and constant money reference was unnecessary
